I first painted a portrait of Krzysztof Penderecki, from meeting him and posing at his home.  This painting was/ is part of a series of portraits of people who are important and inspiring to me, called Velis Passis.

Shortly thereafter, I was still thinking about his music and already in my studio, listening to his music, I painted a portrait triptych inspired by his music and his face from the first (Velis Passis) portrait.  During the presentation of the entire collection of Velis Passis portraits at the Palace of Arts in Krakow in 1996, I additionally presented this Penderecki triptych in one of the rooms.

Over the years, this triptych was then shown from time to time during concerts and meetings about Penderecki and his music.

My portraits of Penderecki were also used on CD covers of his music, and in various press articles.
